Chair yoga

~ Chair yoga is a gentle and accessible form of yoga in which most exercises are performed seated on a chair, allowing older adults with limited mobility to participate safely and comfortably.

~ Chair yoga can support:
improving mobility and flexibility, supporting balance and coordination, reducing tension and restlessness, deepening the breath, and promoting relaxation, vitality, and overall wellbeing.

​

~ Chair yoga sessions can be organized in care homes, residential facilities, community centers, or senior groups, and are always carefully adapted to the needs and abilities of the participants.

Chair yoga for seniors

Movement, relaxation, and vitality in later life

 

I provide tailored chair yoga for the elderly in residential care homes, residential care centers, and community centers.

The lessons are carefully tailored to the group. Each session takes into account the group dynamics, physical capabilities, and any health challenges of the participants. Personal attention, safety, and respect for everyone's pace are central.

Chair yoga adapted to the group

Chair yoga at Deeply Relaxed consists of gentle and accessible exercises that help keep both body and mind active and relaxed.

Sessions may include:

• gentle mobility exercises for the whole body
• posture exercises supporting the musculoskeletal system
• conscious breathing
• body awareness and coordination
• rhythmic exercises stimulating concentration and brain activity
• working with voice and sound for expression and connection

The sessions support flexibility, vitality, relaxation, and social interaction.

Optional session formats

In addition to chair yoga, additional sessions can be offered.

Voice, Rhythm & Sound

​

A playful and gentle session where movement, voice, and rhythm come together.

Through simple rhythmic exercises, light percussion, and voice use we stimulate:

• group connection
• coordination and concentration
• joy and shared expression

This format can be integrated into a yoga class or offered as a separate workshop.

Sound Relaxation Session

​

A calm and therapeutic sound experience using singing bowls, adapted for older adults.

With soft sounds and live instruments, a relaxing atmosphere is created that can support:

• deep relaxation
• stress reduction
• calm and wellbeing

This session can be offered as part of a program or as a stand-alone relaxation event.

About the teacher

​

Marina Trisic is the founder of Deeply Relaxed and a certified yoga teacher.

She offers classes, workshops, and private sessions in yoga, somatic movement, body awareness, and voice- and sound-based relaxation.

She is also specialized in senior yoga, from chair yoga to gentle movement and relaxation sessions adapted to the needs and abilities of older adults.

Safety, personal attention, and a respectful approach are the foundation of her work.

About Deeply Relaxed

​

Deeply Relaxed is a practice for gentle movement and relaxation, with special attention to yoga for seniors.

In addition to regular yoga classes and body-oriented sessions, Deeply Relaxed offers chair yoga and adapted movement programs for older adults, aimed at supporting wellbeing, vitality, and relaxation.

The approach is calm, safe, and adapted to each person’s abilities, allowing participants to feel comfortable and move in a relaxed way.

The goal of the sessions is to support older adults in mobility, relaxation, body awareness, and social connection, stimulating both body and mind.
