During this extra-long Restorative yoga class, you will have the opportunity to rediscover a deep stillness in your mind, restore energy, and release physical, emotional, and mental tension. This class lasts three hours, which gives you the opportunity and time to dig deep into your body to develop body awareness and thereby recognize and release deep-seated tensions in the body. Restorative yoga is a slow and gentle form of yoga that aims to bring you into a deep state of relaxation and tranquility. I use various props such as blankets and bolsters to support the body in different yoga postures, allowing the entire system to enter a deeply relaxed state. An important part of these lessons are exercises with different yoga balls and trigger point balls. In this extra-long lesson, we will use them extensively as a therapeutic movement and massage tool that focuses on the trigger points of the body. Yoga balls help release tension in the connective tissue, build tissue resilience, and release tension. In addition, Mindfulness and Embodiment are an important part of Restorative Yoga. During this workshop, we practice bringing awareness to each pose. We delve deeper into the sensations of body and breath. That means going slower and staying in each pose longer. This approach to yoga has a profound immediate effect on your mental and emotional state.
Restorative Yoga is combined with
a Sound Bath
Exclusively for this Sunday, the restorative yoga class is combined with a relaxing “SOUND BATH” lying down concert that I have created especially for this occasion and am adding to this special yoga class. During this second part of the lesson, I will take you on a sound experience journey using singing bowls, chimes, a shamanic drum, and a soft and soothing voice. A sound experience also called a Sound Bath is a meditative sound practice in which participants 'bathe' in sound waves. The sound experience is combined with guided meditation and breathwork. This is deeply concentrated bodywork that focuses on deep relaxation. The vibration of the singing bowl can have profound effects on the body and mind. The sounds of the bowls 'harmonize' the cells with their frequencies, bringing body and mind into balance. Singing bowls also have a positive effect on brainwave frequencies and can help shift brainwaves from the usual beta – the everyday thinking and stress mode to alpha, theta or delta states responsible for deep relaxation, rejuvenation, and tranquility. This session is for anyone looking for deep rest, but also for people who deal with chronic tension, burnout, fatigue, anxiety, and sleep problems.
